Ending preventable sickness and death among women and children

The high rate of morbidity and mortality among women and children in Nigeria is a great public health challenge that CHESIDS aims to solve by ending preventable illnesses and deaths among these populations. Our objective is to increase awareness and uptake of childhood vaccine-preventable illnesses and increase knowledge and access to information and services regarding women’s health and well-being through health promotion campaigns, advocacy, and implementation of health programs.

High out-of-pocket payment is a huge challenge to the access and uptake of health services in Nigeria, especially among women of low socio-economic status. Through The Next Hundred Economically empowered women, CHESIDS aims to empower women with skills and resources to be financially able to cater to their health needs and that of their children, thereby reducing adverse health challenges and promoting good health among this population.
