CHESIDS embarked on a substance abuse project in Sheritti community in December 2019. The project themed “Promoting Reduction of Substance Abuse among Young People” is to effectively triangulate multicomponent interventions to improve adolescent/young people’s health and wellbeing.
Problem:
Substance Abuse involves a wide variety of substances/drugs such as alcohol, tramadol, codeine etc. It is an emerging public health challenge especially among teenagers and young people
Activities:
Peer Educator training – A two days training of peer educators which comprised of representatives from four (4) different groups: Men, Women, Out-of-School youth and Secondary school students who will be social advocates of change within their community.
