HIV Sensitization & Testing in Zhilu Village

In June 2016, CHESIDS launched an initiative to encourage young people to make an impact on the health of disadvantaged rural or urban slum communities. HIV sensitization and testing were offered to community members. They were informed on awareness, transmission, prevention, care, support and treatment of HIV. Centre for Health Systems Support (CHESIDS), in partnership with Integrated Initiative for Women and Youth, carried out a medical outreach at Tsar Mbaduku, Vandekiya Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria on 20th August 2016. Community members received information on HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections. They were also offered examination and screening for HIV. HIV Sensitization & Testing in Dutse Baumpe

CHESIDS as part of its objectives to promote better health outcomes for resource-constrained and underserved communities in Nigeria, partnered with Dutse Care and Support Group (DCSG) to mark the 2015 World AIDS Day (WAD). WAD provides an opportunity for people all over the world to unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS, raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and show solidarity in the face of the pandemic. Dutse Care and Support Group is a community-based organization located in Dutse Baupma community within Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory. The commemoratory event took place at the Chief of Baupma’s palace with over 180 persons in attendance.
